Transforming A Swampy Yard

Before East Coast arrived, Barbara and Ray sloshed through mud and an overgrown jungle to gather firewood from their backyard wood pile. Muddy boots, ticks and eyesore weeds were some of the hazards. But the firewood corner was just part of the drainage challenge encompassing the entire property.

Their entire backyard was a swampy, muddy mess with water flowing dangerously toward the basement and foundation of the house. The problems included massive amounts of water pouring unrestrained from a large neighboring hill, poor grading and broken downspouts.

With an integrated drainage system, East Coast tamed the natural water and added new beauty to enhance outdoor living and protect their home! The firewood corner was transformed into an oasis of practical beauty with stepping stones, decorative boulders, mulched beds, grading, new sod and pachysandra ground cover. And a beautiful stone retaining wall (with underground drainage system) now diverts water away from the house and yard and out into the natural woods just beyond their property. The diagram below details the creative integrated solution.

Angies List Super Service Awared 2013

They did a retaining wall. It's perfect. They showed up when they said they were going to and finished the job up nicely. I hadn't worked with them before...I have some jobs in the works, and I plan on reusing them...I would call on them again...
